About

From the time I first learned to read, I’ve loved stories. I count the brave Knights of the Round Table, the intrepid Hardy Boys, and the Fantastic Mr. Fox among some of my best friends. It’s no wonder, then, that I was pulled so thoroughly toward editing and writing.

During my high school years, I served as a reporter—and eventually as editor—of our high school newspaper. After graduation, I moved on to Brigham Young University, where I received what I consider one of the best editing educations possible in the western United States: Leading Edge Magazine. While on staff with Leading Edge, I worked my way up from slush pile reader to Circulation Director to Editor, finally ending my time there as Senior Editor in 2008.

I graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language (with a minor in Editing) in December of 2007. Shortly thereafter, I was hired on as a copyeditor at the Provo Daily Herald, where I worked for nearly a year. Working at the Daily Herald was a great learning time for me, and I proofread and copyedited to my heart’s content. Unfortunately, a post on the copydesk is not the most lucrative position in the world, and I decided that going back to BYU—as a full-time employee—would better serve my goals.

I am currently working through prerequisite courses to apply for BYU's MFA in Creative Writing and hope to begin working on my degree soon.
